Mayflower Book Club OG
The original Book Club meets on the last Wednesday of every month at 8 pm at our shop in Leiden. At each session, participants vote on the next book. Every selection comes from a different country, giving us the opportunity to explore diverse perspectives and learn from other cultures.
Leiden is home to many international students and expats and has a long history of intercultural exchange. We hope this book club inspires new friendships, fresh perspectives, and empathy across borders.
Discussions are held in English, and readers of all ages and nationalities are warmly welcome!

The Queer Book Club was founded during Pride Leiden 2026 and meets on the third Wednesday of every month at 8 pm at our shop in Leiden. At each session, participants vote on the next book.
We read queer literature in the broadest sense of the word, from classics and essential works to new and recent publications. Whether you are discovering queer literature for the first time or are a longtime reader, everyone is welcome.
Join whenever you like
Participation in both book clubs is flexible: you can decide each month whether or not to join. No registration is required: simply drop by and join us! This means the group changes from session to session, bringing new readers and fresh perspectives every time.
